Cybercrime is a computer or computer network oriented crime. The computer may be used to perpetrate the crime or be a target of the crime.

Cybercrime may threaten a person, company or a nation's security and financial health. Privacy concerna are often a component of cybercrime. Confidential information may be intercepted or disclosed, lawfully or otherwise. Internationally, both governmental and non-state actors engage in cybercrimes, including espionage, financial theft, and other cross-border crimes. Cybercrime crossing international borders is sometimes referred to as cyberwarfare.
